Suikoden III and Gaiden Announced

At last, a new Suikoden has been announced. Better yet, Konami has officially announced TWO new Suikoden games!

Suikoden III, the official follow up to Suikoden II will be released on PlayStation 2. There were rumors already going around the internet about this third title, but now Konami has clearly stated that it is in the works. A date has not been set as of yet, but we should be seeing screenshots in the not too distant future.

However, before Suikoden III is released, Konami will release Genso Suikoden Vol. 1 Swordsman of Harmonia on PlayStation, Fall 2000. This will be a sort of Gaiden, or Side Story, with some of the characters from the previous titles making appearances. What is interesting is that it is "Volume 1". This is a clear sign that there will be more in this side series.

Fans of the Suikoden series must surely be excited, as not one, but two new games in the series have been announced at the same time. Count on RPGamer to bring you all the latest on these titles, as it is certain that there will be much excitement.
