Grandia II Receives a Solid Japanese Release Date

The original Grandia was first released to Japanese gamers in late 1997 on the Sega Saturn. The game was a huge success in its homeland, and after Sony ported it to the PlayStation last year, North American gamers fell in love with Grandia as well. Now, the upcoming Dreamcast sequel, Grandia II, is on track to please fans once more with releases in both Japan and North America before the year ends.

Importers, mark your calendars! -- because Grandia II will be released to Japanese audiences on August 3, 2000. However, even if you don't plan to import, you won't have to wait too long for your Grandia fix. North American publisher Ubi Soft plans to release the translated version of the game in time for the holidays, although a more specific timeframe is still unknown. Stay tuned to RPGamer for more Grandia II info and an updated North American release date as the news develops.
