Obsidian Entertainment has its hands full with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and there looks to be a bit more work to be done before the game is ready for the prime time. The game is now set to release on May 8, 2018, for PC and Mac.

Deadfire returns players to the world of Eora in search of an awakened god, Eothas, that once rested beneath the player's fortress. The journey takes the player and his or her companions to the Deadfire Archipelago where they will encounter new quests, allies, enemies, and lands to explore. Players will be able to transfer their saves and characters from the first Pillars of Eternity, which will serve to further influence the story.
