Square Enix has announced that both the Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition and Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition will be released worldwide on March 6, 2018. The Royal Edition will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both physically and digitally, while the Windows Edition will be released digitally through the Windows Store, Steam, and Origin, with a physical disc (Steam) version also available. The official PC minimum, recommended, and 4K HDR specifications can be found at the bottom of this article.
In terms of content, the Royal Edition and Windows Edition will both include various new features —
Expanded area: Insomnia City Ruins — the late-game area will include various new sidequests and new boss enemies including Omega, Cerberus, and the Rulers of Yore.
Controllable Royal Vessel boat — players will be able to control the boat they take between Cape Caem and Altissia, exploring the waters between them, fishing and creating new dishes.
Armiger Unleashed — a new action-oriented version of the Armiger, which is unlocked when players find a certain accessory and collect all twelve royal arms.
First-person camera mode
All Season Pass content— including Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, the Comrades multiplayer expansion, and Episode Ignis.
Both the Royal and Windows Editions are priced at $49.99. Those who already own Final Fantasy XV for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the Royal Edition for $19.99. In addition to the details of the releases, Square Enix provided some screenshots and two new trailers, viewable below. Please note that both the Royal Edition screenshots and trailer contain major late-game spoilers for Final Fantasy XV.
