Nihon Falcom has finally revealed the second playable protagonist of its upcoming Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. The titular Dana is a mysterious girl of uncertain age and origin, who only appears to Adol Christin in his dreams. She dual-wields enormous crescent-moon swords in a fighting style dubbed Slash. This involves her spinning and twisting her body while attacking, making her a more formidable force in battle than even Adol.
RPGamers will be able to directly control Dana and watch her story unfold when she appears in Adol's dreams. But what her connection to Adol is, and why she must appear to him in dreams, is still unclear. The story of these dual protagonists will be told side-by-side when Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana launches on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this summer in Japan. View galleries of images and art below.
