To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, Nintendo is about to re-release the original games that started it all. Pokémon Red, Blue, andYellow are all heading to the 3DS Virtual Console service starting on Febrary 27, 2016. Players can travel back to the region of Kanto, where they must capture, battle, and evolve the little creatures in order to collect all 151 original species.
A trailer re-introducing players to the early days of the video game franchise shows gameplay from all three games, in their original Game Boy green-hued color schemes, and, in the case of Yellow's Game Boy Color release, with a bit more graphical flair. Matching Nintendo handheld systems will be released as well.
