Dragon Quest Heroes II

Square Enix unveiled some early details and images for Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End, the follow-up to Omega Force's action spin-off Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. The game is set in a world of seven kingdoms that are initially at peace but war suddenly breaks out, seemingly in accordance with an ancient prophecy. The two main protagonists are Rezel, who is studying at a military academy in Orenka, and his cousin Tereshia, who is a military cadet in Gywall.

Joining the two protagonists are Cesare, Prince of Gywall and childhood friend to Rezel and Tereshia, as well as Orneze, a warrior who serves King Zebion. King Zebion is the ruler of same-named state that lies at the center of the continent and acts as a suzerain to the others. The other six kingdoms are divided into three ruled by humans — Orenka, Gywall, and Kretia — and three ruled by monsters — Mohrias, Felnock, and Daral.

Some returning characters from the previous Dragon Quest Heroes titled have also been confirmed, with new characters also set to appear. The confirmed returning characters are Alena (Dragon Quest IV), Kiryl (Dragon Quest IV), Maya (Dragon Quest IV), Terry (Dragon Quest VI), and Jessica (Dragon Quest VII), while the current set of new characters consists of Minea (Dragon Quest IV), Torneko (Dragon Quest IV), Carver (Dragon Quest VI), Gabo (Dragon Quset VII), Maribel (Dragon Quest VII), Angelo (Dragon Quest VIII).

Dragon Heroes II is set to be released in Japan on May 27, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. No announcement has been made regarding a localisation at this time. The game's debut trailer is set to be released later this month.
