Square Enix has made a demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII available on digital marketplaces. The free demo allows players to explore the city of Yusnaan while looking for Snow. There will be plenty of battles involved, and a number of equipment sets (which change Lightning's class abilities) are available to try out.

The demo is available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is available to everyone on the PlayStation Network now, but is currently exclusive to Gold members on Xbox Live. Silver members can download it on January 28. Playing the demo provides opportunities to unlock one or more exclusive equipment sets for the final game: a samurai outfit for PSN players and a Siegfried outfit for players on either system who submit a battle score online.
