During last year's convention season, a new project by Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada (temporarily titled Project Happiness) made the rounds. Publisher Natsume has announced that the game has been officially named Hometown Story, with the goal of evoking feelings of warmth and happiness in players.

Players can choose to play a male or female protagonist, who has a sprite companion. Very little is known about the gameplay, except that it appears to involve owning a shop.

Hometown Story is also coming out in Europe, where it will be published by Rising Star Games. The game will come out in 2013 in all regions.
