Nintendo of Europe has confirmed a release date of March 16, 2012 for the second game in the Inazuma Eleven series. Inazuma Eleven 2 picks up immediately after the events of the first game and sees players help Raimon's football team protect their school from extraterrestrial invaders. Whilst doing so players will have the opportunity to play against other teams and select from a multitude of potential team members.

The game will be released on the DS and comes in two different versions, Firestorm and Blizzard, which offer some unique opponents and team members to recruit. Like its predecessor, Inazuma Eleven 2 is currently not due for a release in North America.
