Some information on the first DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 was recently leaked from various sources, and now BioWare has confirmed many details about it. This DLC pack, called From Ashes, will be released on the same day as the game's launch. People who purchase the Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to download this DLC pack for free, but everyone else will have to buy it. BioWare hasn't revealed the price for the DLC yet, but that information will likely be released soon.

What is known is some of the contents of the DLC. From Ashes brings Shepard back to Eden Prime, the planet Shepard travelled to at the beginning of the original Mass Effect. This adventure will allow Shepard to acquire a new squad member who is a survivor of the supposedly long-dead Prothean race. It will also include a new weapon and an alternate appearance for every member of Shepard's team.
