Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

We've known for some time that Namco-Bandai will be publishing Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch in North America and Europe, but the company has finally provided official confirmation of the deal via press release. Ni no Kuni will come out for the PS3 in Q1 2013 in Europe and "winter 2012" in North America. We assume that "winter 2012" refers to November or December rather than March 2012, but Namco-Bandai has not yet responded to our request for confirmation.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a collaboration between RPG company Level-5 and the famous animation house Studio Ghibli. The soundtrack is being composed by Joe Hisaishi, who is known for scoring Studio Ghibli films such as My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. Ni no Kuni's story stars a young boy who is transported to a magical world in which he hopes to reunited with his deceased mother. The boy will learn a variety of magic spells that can be used for puzzle-solving and battle, as well as befriend various creatures who will fight for him. The English language versions of the game will feature the option to switch between English and Japanese voice tracks.
