BioWare has begun to reveal information about Flashpoints, instances that will be making an appearance in the upcoming MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. These missions are self-contained stories that contain stronger enemies that players must fight against as a team.

So far, the official site has revealed five Flashpoint missions, four faction-specific missions, and one end-game mission for both factions. A trailer for one of these Flashpoints, a mid-game scenario for Republic aligned characters, is also available.

The Old Republic currently has no confirmed release date, but Electronic Arts has previously mentioned a definite 2011 release. The official site promises to reveal more details about Flashpoints as the release moves closer.
