Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has detailed a third character added to the upcoming Tales of Xillia, as well as divulged further information about the battle system. The newcomer, 26-year old Alvin (Voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), is a skilled mercenary who encounters the two lead characters, Jude and Milla, as they're running away from the authorities. Similar to Raven of Tales of Vesperia, Alvin appears to be hiding his intentions under his carefree nature.
Tales of Xillia makes use of a new version of the series' battle system titled "Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System," which adds to the Linear Motion Battle System used in previous Tales games by adding "Link Mode." Under Link Mode, the player controlled character pairs up with another character, who will cover the player from rear attacking enemies, and support their attacks with their own.
Tales of Xillia has no confirmed release date yet, and no announcement has been made about a localisation. However, Namco Bandai have recently teased a potential state-side release of Tales of Graces F. Keep an eye on RPGamer for further news.
