Crimson Gem Saga

Atlus has finally confirmed the last of their leaked Amazon.ca game with the announcement of Crimson Gem Saga for the PlayStation Portable. This title is a Korean developed RPG that was initially titled Astonishia Story 2: Fate to Unhorse One, but was renamed as Garnet Chronicle in Japan before being retitled once again for North America. This release is part of a partnership between Atlus and the Korean publisher SK Telecom.

Those who played and did not enjoy the first Astonishia Story should not be immediately turned away, as the title change comes with good reason. Crimson Gem Saga is a completely different style of game, featuring turn-based combat, hand-drawn artwork, and a fantasy plot, but most importantly a different developer.

Mr. Jung Il Lee, Console Development Division Director of IRONNOS states, "We are very excited to be able to work with Atlus because of their exceptional reputation in the field of localization. We are pleased that our game will be getting the care and attention it deserves, and eagerly look forward to its release into the North American market."

Crimson Gem Saga is scheduled for release on May 26, 2009 with an MSRP of $29.99. A Korean demo was made available last year and can be accessed here, but they should note that lots of things have likely changed since this was released.
