Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

Atlus continues the barrage of game announcements by revealing that Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, for the Nintendo DS, is scheduled to launch in North America on June 23. The game has a suggested retail price of $29.99 and has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Following a demon invasion, Japan has been saved by its government, though at the cost of having to quarantine Tokyo. Of course, there are people within this isolation zone and there is no safety, leaving hope in the player's hands to help the hero and his friends escape Hell on Earth.

Devil Survivor implements a battle system that is a cross between a normal roleplaying game and a strategy RPG. Units on the battlefield are deployed in groups of 2-3 and players will need to decide the right combination of humans and demons to utilize to take out the enemy. The battles, themselves, take place in first person turn-based action.

Another of the game's systems is the demon auction, which is used to capture and eventually fuse demons. The hero receives a mysterious device called the COMP, which allows him to enter into contracts with demons to use in battle against others. There are others that own such a device, known as demon tamers, that are only using them to meet their own ends.

This title is all about choices, and whether the player chooses to side with angels, demons, or only his or her self, all the choices made throughout the game will determine the flow of the story. In the end, the choices you make will likely determine the life or death of thousands of people. For more information on this title, readers can visit Devil Survivor's official site.
