European fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series will be getting a treat this April. KOEI announced today that they are teaming up with Atlus to bring Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army to PAL gamers this spring. Though it is a long-running series, dating back to the Famicom days, North American localizations of Shin Megami Tensei and its spin-offs have been sporadic, and even more so in PAL regions.
Taisho-era Japan provides the historical backdrop for the latest addition to the series. Players take control of Raidou Kuzunoha XIV, a Devil Summoner, as he investigates a series of strange occurrences in the capital city of Edo. Devil Summoner is due out on April 27 on the PlayStation 2.
