Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream

Bandai Namco has provided Xbox 360 gamers with a concrete Japanese release date for its upcoming title Trusty Bell: Chopan no Yume. The game was originally announced back in June 2006, and in September Namco Bandai announced that it would be localizing the title for release in North America sometime in 2007.

Developed by tri-Crescendo, Trusty Bell centers around the final hours Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin's life, one of history's most influential piano composers. Drifting between life and death, Chopin dreams of a fantasy land in which people with incurable diseases also hold great magical power. Chopin visits this world in his dreams and finds himself in the village of Tenuto, where he meets Polka, a sick young girl nearing her end. Chopin, Polka, and her friend Allegretto must find a way to save Polka using her magical powers.

Not surprisingly, music plays a large role in this title. Russian pianist Stanislav Bunin will perform Chopin's piano numbers within the game, with in-game music created by Japanese composer Motoi Sakuraba.

Trusty Bell waltzes into Japan on June 14 with pricing set at 7,329 Yen (including tax). An official North American release date has not yet been set, but North Americans will be "Chopin" for this game later this year under its localized title, Eternal Sonata. More information on the game can be found on its official Japanese website.
