Gamecock Media Group announced this week that they are working with Firefly Studios on the new action RPG, Hero. The two companies, best known for the strategy/simulation series Stronghold, have teamed up again to develop a new title for PC gamers. According to Mike Wilson, Gamecock Media Group CEO and Head of Marketing, Firefly Studios understands "that consumers want something more than another sequel and we plan to support that vision."

Though details are sketchy, the game promises dungeon exploration rendered in exquisite detail by Firefly's new HD engine. It allows the player to gain melee, ranged, and magic skills, and boasts of an intense close combat system. The game will also feature some form of multiplayer capability. Hero is slated for spring 2009 and is being developed for PC and a next-generation platform which has yet to be announced.
