Today, Buena Vista Games revealed some goodies which will be included with Spectrobes for the Nintendo DS. The game, which features space-age creature collecting, will be packaged with four translucent trading cards. These cards can be placed over the touch screen and allow players to enter a numerical code which unlocks hidden items and creatures. More cards will be available for purchase after the game's release.

Once players have excavated, revived, and trained their creatures, they can use them to battle the evil Krawl or pit them against those of other players through wireless gameplay. Tournament-style gameplay will also be possible with up to sixteen players. In addition, Spectrobes will feature downloadable content via Wi-Fi, including extra creatures, items, and videos. It will also allow for the creation of a player profile on the Spectrobes website, which will include a scoreboard with player rankings based on specific game events.

Players can collect Spectrobes on March 13, 2007. Look to RPGamer for further coverage once the game is released.
