Bethesda announced that a new expansion pack for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is on the way. Titled The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, it will allow players to explore the Realm of Sheogorath. In it is a world split into two sides: the sublimely creative Mania and the completely psychotic Dementia.
Within the new realm, players will find over a dozen new monsters, new items, ingredients, spells, and craftsmen who will be able to make new weapons and armor not found anywhere else. There will also be several quests available that can be played with existing characters from previous content, or players will be able to start from scratch as they explore the new land of the Madgod, which is approximately a quarter the size of Cyrodill, the land of Oblivion.
The expansion will be available on PC DVD or downloadable via the Xbox Live service, though neither a date nor price has been announced at this time. There is also no announcement of whether or not this content will be available in the PlayStation 3 version of the game when that comes out later this year.
