Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Despite official dismissals of speculation by Nintendo, the continuing saga of whether or not The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will incorporate the Revolution's controller into its gameplay refuses to die down. This time, however, the reports are being fueled by none other than Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who has now strongly hinted at the possibility.

The affair began when NGC Magazine ran a report claiming that sources within the company confirmed that the GameCube's final Zelda game would, when played on the next generation Revolution console, incorporate some functionality of the latter console's motion sensitive controller. Shortly after, Nintendo issued a statement saying that the report was pure speculation and no announcement had been made regarding Twilight Princess.

In a recent interview with Nintendo of Europe, Miyamoto stated, "And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller." The designer did not elaborate on what kind of functions could be used in Twilight Princess with the controller. However, in a subsequent European interview, Miyamoto responded when pressed for a teaser, "Hmm. One word: Boomerang."

Expect the company to share more details at this year's E3 show. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is currently on track for a fall release in North America.
