Nintendo had a gift of its own for nostalgia-ridden UK gamers today, announcing a new offer that will make getting hold of the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition that bit easier. During January, those that pick up select games are eligible to receive the much-vaunted "freebie." Previously, Britons were placed in the position of having to purchase a Mario Kart Double Dash!! bundle in order to receive the compilation.

To qualify for the promotion, proof of purchase from any of a list of popular titles must be sent to Nintendo's UK service center. The list of games includes: Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, 1080 Avalanche, Mario Party 5 and Eternal Darkness. Gamers not up to buying a new title can also qualify by picking up any two of the following Player's Choice titles: Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, StarFox Adventures and Mario Party 4.

For those not in the know, Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition is a compilation disc featuring the full versions of Legend of Zelda (NES), Adventure of Link (NES), Ocarina of Time (N64), Majora's Mask (N64) and a playable demo for Wind Waker. The disc has been available to North American gamers through a variety of means since last November.
