PSX Refuses To Die

With the help of NEC Interchannel, the PlayStation console will live to fight another day. That's because the company, maker of Black Matrix 0 for the Game Boy Advance, has announced it will be putting out a PlayStation version of the title, which will be called Black Matrix 00.

Double Zero, as it has been affectionately dubbed by NEC, will chronicle the battles between White Angels, Dark Devils, and humanity. Players get to assume the role of a young man whose childhood girlfriend is captured by an three-winged angel, seriously injuring him in the process. A mysterious person arrives and transplants a pair of angel's wings on his back, curing the wounds but blanking out his memory in the process. The only thing he remembers is that he must save his friend, and this is where the story picks up.

NEC has not as yet revealed a release date for Black Matrix 00, beyond estimating it will be released sometime this year. Given that the Game Boy Advance entry in the series appeared on a far more prominent platform and did not make it to North America, chances of the PlayStation iteration making it overseas are grim.
