Popolocrois Story III Delayed

Another wave of delays struck Sony today; this time, Popolocrois Story III, along with several other titles, has been pushed back. The game, originally slated for release this spring in Japan, has been moved to an indefinite date. All Sony will confirm at this point is that they are planning to release it before the year is out. This is the third RPG for either the PlayStation or PlayStation2 to be delayed in the last three days, although Popolocrois Story III is the only first-party title among the three. Sony has not given a reason for the delay at this point.

Popolocrois Story III is the tale of a young prince who is trying to follow in his heroic father's footsteps. While little else is known about the game's plot at this point, the graphics technology to be employed in the game, which can display 3-D CG animation much like a cartoon, is what appears to set it apart at this time, offering an innovative means to tell the story. Unfortunately, though, with no firm release date, Japanese gamers will have to wait at least a few more months for this experience, and there is still no confirmation that Popolocrois Story III will even reach North American shores.
