Namco announced they are developing another Tales title, the fourth in the series. The company made the announcement today while at the same time confirming that the game will be developed for a next-generation platform. Despite expectations that this platform would be the Playstation2, however, Namco did not move to confirm this, leading to speculation that the title might just show up on more than one system. Whatever the case, Namco isn't telling at this point.

The company is also remaining tight-lipped about just when they expect to be finished with the game. There has been no mention of a release date, either Japanese or North American, and furthermore, it has not been confirmed for North American release. This, in conjunction with the lack of any details regarding the game itself, would tend to suggest it is in a fairly early stage of development; The name Tales of X itself has a fairly tentative sound.
