Final Fantasy VI's world of rising technology and magic needed more of a modern touch than that of the games in the previous series. With Nobuo back on board, he successfully made a soundtrack to accompany it. FFVI used Character Themes the most out of any other game, which led to the development of FFVI: STARS volumes 1 and 2. Also featuring a full length opera, this was the beggining of Nobou's major musical change.
