Howdy folks, this is Rexy again. This week I will come forth with the first collaboration that I ever took part in, thanks to k-wix who managed to chip in with the opportunity 8 months ago. This is a medley of tracks from Kingdom Hearts, all written for Solo piano. Part 1 depends more on some of the lighter themes from the earlier portions of the game including Dearly Beloved, A Day in Agrabah and the Gummi Ship music, while Part 2 holds some of the themes better suited for the end of the game including Hollow Bastion, Guardando Nel Buio and Always On My Mind. In comparison to the VGMix version the mastering has been refined a great deal, and has been split into two separate MP3s for easier listening. It was a great experience working with k-wix on this, and who knows, we may even come together sometime again in the future :D.

Splendid Performance Audition Phase 2 |

Who would have thought I'd actually send something in for this audition? ;) Nonetheless, what I ended up doing was providing a smooth midnight-at-the-oasis-style variation on the Destiny Islands theme from Kingdom Hearts. This is arranged for three percussionists (drum kit, tamborine, bongos), two alternate leads (tenor sax, recorder), bass, marimba and e piano, so I can say it has adapted well to the small band requirement. Special thanks go to Kevin "Lorenzo" Sisk at OverClocked Remix for rendering my MIDI project into MP3 format.

Anyone remember this variation on the Destiny Islands theme from the past audition? Like I promised, here's the original MIDI that I rendered and used to get help around the OC ReMix boards for the mastering. Even though I didn't pass this time I'm still pretty much happy with the input that managed to come through with the composition, and who knows, I may even take it to new levels some day.

This is my first arrangement for large symphony orchestra and my first real sequenced song. In the first place I wrote it for my percussion group in Holland. But sequencing percussion is very hard for me at the moment. So I rearranged it for symphony orchestra. I used a couple of themes from the first section of the game. Telling more or less the story of Sora getting involved in the grand story. Have fun listening and I hope you all like it.
