01.16.02 - Sakuraba Special

This week is a busy one. I've spent most of my free time (which was very little, by the way), to work on page revamping. Within the actual music hierarchy, about one half of the pages are near finished. The new setup should be done soon.

I'd like to thank the people who have mailed in their suggestions. It makes my life that much easier, in the end. One of the biggest questions I've gotten has been "When's the next competition!?." I'm happy you're so enthusiastic! I can tell you now a new competition is here!. The RPGamer Variations Competition rules can be found here. TokyoPop has donated some spiffy prizes. Get cracking!

There was some great stuff in my inbox, but I'm keeping most of it for next week's update, just in case everyone is busy with the competition (like I hope you will be). Anybody who isn't blind will notice a lot of stuff this week was submitted by me this week. This is almost everything I had that I hadn't submitted yet. I figured it was a good week since that's was this update's theme.

Instead of going on and on and turning this intro into a novel, I'll cut short here. Good luck in the competition!

"Summon Battle" (Final Fantasy X) by Chris Watson
It's not exactly accurate, and it doesn't sound half as good as the PS2 version does--but, hey. It's better than nothing. Also, it doesn't repeat--I mean, come on. The thing's 140 measures long, which starts giving my Win3.1 MIDI sequencer meltdowns. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

"Jesting Truth" (Valkyrie Profile) by Rob Parton
After such a long time in waiting, I finally got this game! It was worth the wait, in my opinion. There are so many tracks in this soundtrack I love, but I decided to do all the battle themes I've opened up so far. Hopy you like it.

  • Track Quiz
  • Congrats to Frozen Phoenix, the first to email me saying that 'Castle of Flames' is a track from Wild ARMS.
