05.10.01 - The Man With The Machine Gun

What day is it? Hm.. the 10th. That really doesn't help me. Night shift still sucks no matter how you look at it. Looks like this is gonna be the last update before our E3 outing. I probably won't be available for email correspondence till about the 23rd after I leave on the 15th so if you send an email and I don't reply, please don't hate me. ;)

"Password Theme (Remix)" (Castlevania) by Dennis Mott
All I did was directly rip the song from the nsf file, added drums, and generally made it (the already most annoying song in a video game, in my opinion) more annoying! You might like it, though. Thrown together in under 5 minutes!

"The Tragic Prince" (Castlevania) by Dennis Mott
A guy named Brian Xavier emailed me (he said he had maintained sstrax for a while, though i never actually seen sstrax, and when I finally heard about it, it said the site was dead....grrr...). He basically dared me to learn to play the Tragic Prince. He said that no one can replicate the guitar parts. Well, I kinda really shortened the song, and didn't repeat the sections that got repeated, but I played almost all the guitar parts that are found in the song! I even overtracked it! I know the solo is sloppy, but gimme a break -- I learned and recorded this song over a period of 3 days! If you dont like it, bear in mind that im no Yngwie Malmsteen, or Joe Satriani, and my fingers arent as limber as the guy who originally recorded the guitar parts, nor is my guitar that great. Oh well, I like comments in my email nontheless.

"Finished Fantasy" (Final Fantasy) by Silentone
I'd like to dedicate Finished Fantasy to my aunt Rose Mary. Without her help, this song would have remained unfinished.

I found a copy of the Japanese text of the Aria de Mezzo Carratare, and after reading it, I decided that I did not particularly like the FF3a version of the song. So here is the translation that I came up with. I had to add a couple things here and there that are not in the original because of the way that Japanese translates to English, but they are all redundant so as to not change the meaning of the original.

  • Good turnout for the song title this week, which was none other than that of a tune from the Chrono Cross OST. I expected more, but hey, I take what I can get. Kudos around:
