01.12.01 - Cold

No, I'm really not cold. I just happened to be listening to this CD at the time. I wish I were cold. It's January and it's like 65 degrees outside. I'm /so/ moving to Sweden. I can't take 115 degree summers anymore. AHHHH!!!!!

Starting next week, I'll be adding a new section to the Sound Cave: Most Wanted. In this section will be the most requested (by myself and fans included) remixes/sequences/tracks of VGM. Music contributors that take the challenge get bonus kudos for the week. ;)

  • Random Music Reviews
  • The following random reviews are my personal reflections upon the author's work. If you disagree with my views, make sure to let the author know what you think of their pieces!

    "Chaos' Theme"
Am I the only person that this song brings pain to? Don't get me wrong, it's a great sequence! Just, oh man. This battle brings back bad memories.

    "Forever Rachel/Alone in the Dark"
A good combonation of an already existing song fused with some neo-piano work.

    "Battle Theme"
I was mega-happy to hear the revamp of the classic battle theme of Final Fantasy in it's 9th installment. Great piano sequnce by John on this one.

"Happy Birthday (Based on "Crossing the Knoll")"
;) Ok, this is too cool. Anyone who can't find a way to dig this has unresolved childhood issues. Seth, you are the man.

    "Fragments of Dreams"
A good solid piano arrangement of a great song. Kudos to John Isip for this and all his other piano contributions this week.

    Digital Music

    "Prelude Theme (Karaoke)"
Oooookay. The track itself is a great rendition of the prelude theme, but to get the full jist of this tune, you gotta have Impulse Tracker to read along with the lyrics. Elcalen, I do fear you.

  • Creation Tips
  • No Creation Tips for this week. :P
  • Current Competitions
  • There are no current competitions. Wah.
  • Weekly Silliness
  • Again and again we have no kudos to award for last weeks song title. For those who like ambient/atmospheric/goth type music with opera style female vocals, make sure to check out Dark Sanctuary

There's a good chance that this week's song title comes from more than about 10 bands. Fortunately, I'm pretty sure that the lyric selection comes from only one version of the song "Cold". Mouse over my logo below to view the lyric sample.

I feel my soul go Cold. Only the dead are smiling.
