Welcome to The Revised Music Box!
Heylas! After a good month of no updating, it has finally come(more like several things). First off, take a look around the remodled page! It is the product of many hours of hard work in conjunction with many people who will be given more praise later. Why the remodel you ask? Well, for one, today, April 12th, is The Music Box's first birthday. A year ago, I started this page and brought it from the previous form of MIDIs, Modules, and Guitar Tabs. It has grown quite a bit, hasn't it? In appreciation of all rpg music fans, I have tirelessly worked this week to make this update as special to you all as it is to me.
Throughout April, each update will contain a new section. Several of which were most likely expected while some won't be. This is to bring you, the listener and music lover, the optimum in enjoyment in any way. Be sure to check out the new Recorded Remixes archive. The best of quality in music is finally here- take advantage of it. Recorded Remixes can be played with WinAMP and other fine programs. Take a listen to Kaijin's "Wandering Ghosts" remix and feel the superiority in quality. The Music Box itself isn't the only thing for you music enjoyers.
Ultima-Eternity, the largest tournament seen in the video game music scene, has been paved forth in conjunction with many RPG, music, and other gaming sites that you probably also visit aside from your favorite, RPGamer and The Music Box, of course. A little sarcasm never hurt anyone, no? Anyways, the tournament consists of three divisions: MIDI, Modules, and Live. Each will have it's own unique set of rules and guidelines to follow in creating your entry. What kind of entry? An RPG song remix. From electronica arrangements, to live bands preforming, to the most elaborate of digital music- Ultima-Eternity has it all. Where can you go to get the complete set of rules, instructions, ect? www.ultima-eternity.com. Companies such as Project Majestic Mix and GKWorld.com are donating prizes, so you may find it beneficial to partake in the sensation. Perhaps even a talent scout or two may be watching- hint, hint.
Last, the music for today's update is splendid as usual. TSSF returns with two Final Fantasy VIII retracks- Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec and Succession of Witches. Speaking of Succession of Witches, don't forget to check out Virt's hillarious "Sexsession of Witches" that was originally made for my unposted April Fool's joke articles. Annie shows her vocal skills in the Aria de Mezzo Caraterre operetta, while Jesse-Kun brings in many more recorded remixes that I reccomend. Overall, I hope you all like the new face Music Box has taken on. I love suggestions/comments/constructive criticism, so please feel free to e-mail me and voice your opinion. Been around for a year, and will continue to be around to provide you the best RPG music coverage that the net will ever see. Thanks go out to the following people: Faris, who made not only my signature pic and the music box's logo, but is also a dear friend. Squall Strife, who spent his hours helping me do the boring html work that builds up to be the update you see before you. Thanks for putting up with me Squall! Khalal and Powerlord, who helped me with Ultima-Eternity work duiring all this mess. Fellow staffers Doug and Joshua for being there for me duiring the making of this lovely update and all the problems with it. Aside from the cheesyness, I have to think one last person, MiraiTrunks, who spent all his effort into helping create this wonderful new look. I can't express enough thanks ot him! Zhai`helleva dear friends- until next update!
