Some series keep going through the years without a hitch, staying in the public eye by dint of constant sales. Others were popular once upon a time, but have now been left to languish, for a wide range of reasons. It is the series that we haven't seen in awhile that need attention, because they may never come back without a little extra push.

Some of the series we talk about saw new releases not long ago, but fans have come forward to explain why those new games did not uphold the tradition of their predecessors. Far more of the series we discuss haven't been heard from in years, however, and some never had the chance to become series at all. The reasons may differ, but everything mentioned is remembered with fondness by staff members, and deserves the chance to be experienced anew.

Some of the series we're highlighting are very likely to be revived. A few we might have discussed (Lufia and Golden Sun come to mind) are actually seeing new installments, and were thus made ineligible. The odds may be against a lot of what we're talking about, but keeping these series in the public eye is the best way to spur developers into keeping them going. So take a journey back to the past, to play some good games that were a blast.
