Ico Distant View Contest
Ico Distant View

It's time to get out your paints, pencils and digital tablets for RPGamer's latest Fanart contest, centered around Ico, Sony's forthcoming RPG title. While Ico promises to bring players a very unique adventuring experience, it also contains some amazing and beautiful scenic landscapes and game locations, filled with rolling hills, dark forests, crumbling castles and distant views.

In continuing this theme, our contest will focus on these scenes. Submissions for the contest should reveal beauty within the natural world through landscape and scenic imagery.

The submitted art is not required to reflect the art or locations found in Ico, but inspiration can certainly be found in RPGamer's coverage of the game, including a recent batch of screens and several movies. Also consider finding a scenic view in your area that can be used in your art, or simply find the distant views within your own imagination.

Send all contest entries to fanart@rpgamer.com. Be sure to specify in your subject line that your entry is a part of the Ico contest, and not a standard fanart submission. All rules listed in the Submission Guidelines still apply.

Official Contest rules:

1) Following the terms and limits described in the Fanart Submission Guidelines, create an original piece of arwork. This work should focus on scenery, landscapes, and locations. Characters are permitted to appear, but should NOT be the main feature of the work.

2) Entries must be attached to an email and submitted along with the artist's complete name, the title of the work, and at least two lines of commentary about the piece. If the image cannot be attached and sent via email, an included URL of the image's location is acceptable.

3) All entries must be sent to the specified e-mail address above by 11:59 PM PDT on September 19, 2001. Limit of one entry per person; multiple entries will be disqualified.
