News and Stuff

Guess what? I'm engaged. Yes, that's right, engaged to get married, as of Wednesday, June the 27th. His name is AJ Richardson. He lives in England, and I love him very very much. I truly feel blessed to have met him, and even more blessed to know that some day I will be his wife.

Then there's the other news. I'm retiring, partly due to being engaged and finding that I'd rather spend my online time with him than doing anything else I could possibly do online. The other major part of it is that I've just been so irregular with updating that it makes no sense to pretend that I'll be able to get into a normal schedule again. Fanart deserves better, you deserve better, RPGamer as a whole deserves better. So now I get to say my goodbyes.

I can't say that this is a surprise for me, because it's been coming for awhile now. It's a sure sign, when a host starts updating a quarter as frequently as they're supposed to that they won't remain there for long. The time had come when I felt that I'd stretched the patience of the fans and of my co-workers here to the limit, and it felt like the best thing to do would be to retire quickly, with a minimum of fuss.

Here I am, my last update... smiling in a bittersweet way. Remembering an excellent year and a third here at RPGamer. An excellent 6 months in Fanart. With this update I put a close to that part of my life, put it behind me, and move on. *sigh* I'm sounding less like a retiring staffer and more like a graduating senior.

Anyway, you didn't come here to listen to me talk about how I love RPGamer and am going to miss working here and all that sappy stuff. You came for the artwork, and I can tell you that what we have is the cream of the crop. These are the best of the best of what was in my mailbox, including things that had vanished into limbo two or three months ago. Before I forget... submit your art to fanart@rpgamer.com so that it makes its way to Merripen, who will be replacing me. Silky@rpgamer.com will still be functional for awhile if any of you wish to get in touch with me. Enjoy the art, both making it, and looking at it, and goodbye
