Welcome to Art and Lore, RPGamer's Fan Artwork Gallery -- installment 6/24/99! Here's the rest of the POST box's fan artwork! Our Portfolio stars today are Petra Rödig and Demond Rogers, two wonderfully talented artists. I'm so proud of all of you today for two reasons: One, MOST people sent in comments! (But D. Kartoon is so artistically talented that I'll forgive...once. ^_^) Two, you guys had me searching all over for what directories the games go into! That means...there was less typical fanart, and more unique fanart!! (Not all from the Polygonal Company! Hurrah!) Congrats you guys, you're the reason for this weary, eyesore Lorelai! Don't worry, for once that's a good thing. =)

Hehehe...I take it you've all heard me rant about how wonderful Billy-sama is in #rpgamer and otherwise. (Amber Michelle saw me in person, mumbling Billy's name with dreamy eyes) Well, the reason why he's my favorite is not so much how he *looks* (He's almost freaky...like, Village of the Damned freaky...heh, I heard that somewhere about Primera...) but his background and his story are so tragic and touching that I simply love thinking about it. He's a great inspiration for fan artwork (as well as fan fiction, but I don't write much) and I suppose the fact that he (1) Nearly sold his bod for 3000 G and (2) Is a priest with several guns hidden under that holy habit is pretty cool too. =) Hehe, I'm known as Lorelai Who Defrocked a Priest by some of my friends because my fanart of Billy tends to have him...rather undressed. >_<

learned at my uncle's studio how to tattoo.
I've got three tattoo's. One at the left arm (RG VEDA), at the back of my left
hand (a Scrab from ODDWORLD) and on the left leg (Eagle from MAGIC KNIGHT
RAYEARTH). The last two are self-made tattoo's.

My first videogame fanart I drew was Alex from Lunar. I didn't take much time with it, but it turned out alright; I was going for a cartoonish look. My new art is of Azel from Panzer Dragoon Saga in her sleep chamber. I wanted it to look more real like a painting so I took more time with it and tweak it till I got it the way I wanted it to be. I still have a lot to learn so my next art Alex (LSSSC), Billy (xenogears) or Ryo(shenmue) will hopefully be much better! I chose to draw Azel because there's not much fanart from PDsaga and it's one of the best rpg's to date with a great cast of characters. I used pencils and ink to draw her and painted it in photoshop. |

the main bad guy, I just thought he needed an illustration that showed him
brooding and thoughtful and more. . . developed ^_^ I really pulled out my
creative license on this one.

in tribute to one of the 6 main characters, Riesz.
(For those who aren't familiar, Riesz is an Amazoness
princess whose kingdom had been wiped out by a mysterious
ninja army. In bane, she barely escapes leaving behind
many friends who led her out. She wanders aimlessly in
an unknown land alone...)
I hope this pic captures that moment.

version of FF3 (since you couldn't really tell what she looked like).
S'pose it's obsolete now that it's coming out on PSX and there's actually
clear cinemas... ^_^

Story. Two of my favorite characters, hee hee. I never tried drawing
anyone Lunar until now, and I hope I did alright. ^^; I used basic
Crayola colored pencils and Prismacolors, and outlined it in black pen.

Here we have Limberry's Marquis Elmdor and his two sultry concubine assassins Celia and Lede. I really thought these characters were cool and wish they would have been developed more in the plot, thus I decided to render them a little more lifelike... not MUCH more but... The kanji is supposed to say 'blood suck' which is one of his special attacks but my Japanese is bad so it probably says 'wet floor' or something. Elmdor's flat, frighteningly Sephiroth-esque face was difficult to draw, as I have a hard time indicating aged characters without making them look decrepit. He looks as if he needs some vivarin or some viagra or something. You gotta love the assassin twins though; Two gorgeous blonde demonic killers! I'd let them 'use hands' on me any day!

Blah. Maria looks retarded, but it's the sketch's fault... the
coloring is okay methinks. ^^; Her hair was really difficult because it's
ultra curly and I don't have experiences doing those hair styles. I tried,
but there are a lot of *MORTAL* flaws in this picture. Ah well... I shall do
better next time! (This is my first time drawing her)
