FFIV is probably my favorite game ever, and Rydia one of my favorite characters as well. It's all so poetic and magical! Anyway, I used watercolors here to try and get a more dreamy/misty effect, since that particular episode of the story, although never shown, seems really magical and mysterious to me. I hope I was able to communicate tha feeling well enough!

I felt like there was much action and drama in the moment when all your party is crushed, and just before you all die, the Mist dragon comes and defeats Golbez's Shadow. I wanted to portray that scene, with everyone weak and near death just as Rydia reappears in the dwarf king's castle.

This was my third attempt using the digital tablet that I recently bought. The mist dragon was always my favorite summoned monster from FFIV. I decided to draw one as a baby since I love baby dragons so much. I prefer the original style over the new DS one.

I noticed discussion about how there's been more FF6 art lately. Coincidentally, I made this around the beginning of May as a warm up for a series of FF6 work I've been wanting to do for a massive retro kick I've been on. The image is a little stiff but I always loved how powerful Rosa could be in the game if you used her just right. :D
