Random jam session?

I never figured a mascot game could be fun. I mean, how many chocobo games have we seen that have been less than stellar? Despite that though, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime has given me hope. I played it at E3, and was floored by how fun it was.

Playing as the main character, Rocket, you're given control of a giant slime tank. The tank is equipped with cannons that you can load with various types of ammunition, such as rocks and shells. Each cannon has a different trajectory, which is probably useful for negating enemy shots, but I didn't get to see that.

Fire away!

How do you load the shots? By being a malleable slime, of course. By pressing the A button, you can stick to the floor. Then if you combine that with a directional key, you will stretch in that direction. Release the A button, and you'll spring in that same direction. Do this to an object, like a shell, and it will bounce for you to catch it. You can carry up to three objects in this fashion. You then can carry them up to the cannons and throw them with the B button. If you don't use a directional key when you go to throw though, you'll end up hopping into the air. You can also choose to hop into a cannon yourself and become your own cannon slimeball, but it will only cause minor damage. This attack will put you into the central area between the tank and your adversary or objective.

It was kind of fun to run all over the tank, finding ammo and bringing it back, but unfortunately I wasn't facing a real adversary. Rather, it was just a big rock wall. Although, I've watched the real tank fights before, and it looks like a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to Rocket Slime coming in the fourth quarter of this year.
