Atlus has published some quirky games, some impossible games, some classics, and even a rotten egg or two. But even in the worst of times they are the bastion of hope for console RPGamers who have lost faith (or never had any) in Square Enix. Disgaea has brought them very high in my estimation.

The game can accurately be described as Final Fantasy Tactics meets Dark Stalkers - or Persona if you want an RPG reference. The sprite animation is incredibly beautiful and, although the special attack animations aren't necessarily the most amazing I have ever seen, they are extremely flashy and well animated. The game also contains one of the greatest lines I've ever seen in an RPG (read my E3 journal when it's posted for my picture of it).

Disgaea is one of the few 'must have' RPGs I've seen at E3 so far. Pick it up when it comes out, or you might not survive my wrath. By: Zachary Lewis
