The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords GCN Impression

Before the convention started, the staff got together for some massive four player action in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. Nintendo has blessed us with a new version of the game, this time for the GameCube. We saw a preview of this version for the GCN at Nintendo's press conference and from what we saw at the presentation this is a must see.

I just finished playing a level down at Nintendo's booth with three other people. The best part about Four Swords for the Game Cube is you use your GBA/SP to control your Link. This adds four additional screens; while in a dungeon, if one Link goes down a set of stairs, he goes off the TV screen and onto the hand held screen while you explore your small area. No cartridge is required for the hand helds so you'll never have to worry about your friends owning a copy in order to play.

The graphics have changed from the GBA version to the GCN. The game looks almost exactly like LoZ: A Link to the Past. In fact, the boss that we had to fight at the end of the level was almost exactly like the Moldorm (Boss guarding the third pendant) from Link to the Past. All in all, I'm looking forward to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords for the GCN.
