Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - First Impressions

Star Wars has not been a favorite series of mine, on the silver screen or the flat panel. Thankfully, Bioware has eliminated a great deal of this, because the game takes place roughly 4000 years before the first Star Wars movie. Obviously, this opens up a new avenue for an entire slew of new characters.

The most noticeable feature of the game is the amount of detail that has been paid attention to it. Each and every character has their own voice dialogue, and all species have their own special way of talking. Small effects, such as the dust blowing around the feet of the city's population when they walk, or bits of sand blowing around in the wind, have been added, which gives the game a very realistic feel. The game also boasts a huge variety of items, so nobody ever gets bored.

All in all, it looks like Bioware has another winner on their hands. The game is accessible, extremely well-done, and it has a strong story to boot. I might be an anti-fan of Star Wars, but I think this game is definitely worth a shot.
