Guild Wars Impressions

Another NCSoft game I got my paws on was Guild Wars. The game is only 20% complete as of now, so I didn't raise or lower my expectations for such an early build.

At the beginning of your game you've a choice between three different chracter classes, both male and female, and you're then given a selection of villages to visit. Only NPCs and other players were interactive there, and the NPCs were there to talk to, and to give you a quest to take.

Once taking a quest, you're teleported to a battle area. To engage an enemy, one only needed to left click on an enemy's name, and then press the space bar. Afterwards, your character would continue to attack until given different orders. While attacking though, you were able to make use of special attacks on the fly by hitting your number keys. I took the archer class chracater and made great use of poisonous arrows. Unfortunately there wasn't much more to combat other than running around killing creatures in the demo, but I did see a group of NPC monks fall under attack, and did manage to find and save a missing comrade of theirs.
