The Xbox version of Bethesda's
Morrowind
varies little from the PC version. The main difference is
the simplified control system necessary for a console release.
Also absent from the Xbox version is The Elder Scrolls Construction
Kit, Morrowind's all purpose editor.
With no content subtractions, one would think that the
Xbox version would play as well as the pc version. For the
most part, this is true. The Xbox version, with its simplified
control system, is actually easier to pick up and play than the
pc version.
There are only two draw backs to the Xbox version. First, the
game seemed rather dark, though that may have simply been do
to the brightness settings of the Television the game was
being displayed on. The other, and more severe drawback,
was the "skippiness" of the display. Periodically, the game
would lag momentarily. Several factors might have contributed
to the lag, and RPGamers can expect Bethesda to have remedied
the situation by the time the Xbox version ships in two weeks.
