Honorable Mentions

There you have it. RPGamer's Best of What's to Come. Overall, we had 29 games mentioned. As much as it pained us to do so, we had to narrow our lists down. Congratulations to Bryan "Aethelred" Boulette, as his top five picks, though not in the exact same order, matched the overall list.

Though these didn't make the top five, it doesn't mean that they are without merit. The following Honorable Mentions were so close, but didn't make the final cut.

Honorable Mentions

  • Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker

Coming this November, Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker will be able to show us just what it's made of. Having been compared to the Pokémon series, this monster catching RPG is sporting the tag, "Losers catch 'em all; winners catch the best." Michael "Macstorm" Cunningham states, "I am looking forward to catching the best this winter."

  • Eternal Sonata

What is there not to like about Eternal Sonata? From Adriaan "omegabyte" den Ouden, "Eternal Sonata definitely tops my list though, simply for its sheer creativity. Putting aside the amazing graphics and the unique battle system, this is a game about the final hours of Frederic Chopin's life. The very concept is beyond bizarre, and I can't wait to see how it turns out."

"I'm Chopin at the bit just waiting for this game," is all that Josh "Ourobolus" Martz had to say about this one.

  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

When it comes to Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, there is a lot of excitement. Shawn "Lusipurr" Cooper had this to say, "Final Fantasy Tactics has been my favorite game since its release on the PS1, and I have long lusted for a re-release with three things: an updated translation, a versus mode, and a portable format. Ask and you shall receive. I couldn't be more thrilled. This is the way!"

"The original FFT was an amazing piece of work, with its twisting plotline - I'm intrigued to see what will come out of the retranslation," says staff reviewer Michael "CactuarJoe" Beckett.

Well, that's it for now. Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions via the link below. Not only would we love to hear what you have to say about our list, but you can also share your own. In the meantime, save up your money and get ready for a ton of RPGs.
