Inauguration DayJune 21st, 2002 Welcome to RPGamer's newest gimmick! A work in progress for over a year, the News Roundtable has been thrown around as an idea by our former news head, Doug Hill, for as long as I've known him, and after Andrew set up the framework, he realized what a huge time commitment it would turn out to be and gave it to me instead. Thanks, Andrew! All kidding aside, this experiment has turned out to be a huge success and a lot of fun for all of us involved in it. I hope it gives you all a chance to get to know the underrated and news staff of this site and gives us RPGamer newsies a chance to comment on the news we write. We have opinions, too! For the current Roundtable, we discussed various developments at E3, including the appearance of several eagerly awaited RPGs (Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda) and some pleasant surprises (.hack). We also discussed the next generation of MMORPGs (Shadowbane, FFXI, World of Warcraft, and Star Wars: Galaxies) and the current and future status of the video game wars. You'll get to see some infighting, some neat concepts, and some great and not-so-great ideas, so check it out here, you won't regret it. If, after reading through our inaugural issue of "RPGamer Gone Wild: College Staffers Exposed" you would like to have as much fun as we did arguing about various videogame-related topics, click the link in the sidebar to your right and tell me (tip: spell your name right) why you should be able to do it. The more, the merrier, and you'll get to meet some of the lesser known staff members. Like me. In addition, you'll get your name in the panelist section, you'll get to post an (appropriate) picture of your choosing below, and the chance to tell the RPGaming world exactly what you think about the newest developments in the genre. Suggestions for comments are always welcome, and should be sent to rtable@rpgamer.com.
The opinions expressed in the following topics are the opinions of these six staff members and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of RPGamer as a whole, nor the RPGamer staff members not participating in the roundtable.
