Final Viewpoint

[12/27/2009] Last week I saw Avatar, and earlier tonight I saw Sherlock Holmes. I think I enjoyed the latter more, despite the rave critical attention Avatar has been getting. I have my reasons, but I won't get into them. As for Holmes, it's just good, cheesy fun.

The decade is almost over, and it's a good time to look back and see just how much video games have changed since the new millennium began. RPGs like Diablo II and Final Fantasy IX, two of the greatest RPGs of 2000, have given rise to games like Borderlands, Torchlight, and Final Fantasy XIII. Looking at them side by side, it's hard to believe we've come so far in just ten short years. And seeing what games have become with this new generation of consoles, you have to wonder just how much farther they can advance by the time 2020 rolls around.

See you all in 2010! Have a safe and happy new year, everyone.
