[02/01/2009] I had originally intended to get someone else to do this for me, but unfortunately that fell through, so I must, with as little shame as possible, celebrate my own accomplishment. As of this week, I have written 50 reviews for RPGamer and obtained platinum status. Go me!

However, that is not the only reason to celebrate. Today, February 1st, also happens to be my birthday. Again, go me! And finally, as if any of you didn't know, today was also the Super Bowl! Go [insert your favorite team here]! Man oh man, what a 4th quarter, am I right?

By an astonishing coincidence that I am not entirely sure how to explain, 3 of the 5 milestone accomplishments displayed here today are for .hack games, plus there is also my 49th review, which is also for a .hack game. Honestly, it caught me very much by surprise.

Finally, part as a birthday gift and part as a spending spree on my own part, today I also acquired the Drum Rocker, better known as the Rock Band 2 ION Premium Drum Kit. It is amazing. The difference is apparent on every level. The way the sticks hit the pads feels better, the pads themselves are bigger, the pads can be moved around, it makes infinitely less noise than the normal kit... It's an entirely different Rock Band experience. I need to buy a third cymbal add-on for it still, but even with just the two, I'm very, very happy with it.
