Taito's Rakugaki Kingdom in Early Production for Playstation 2
Taito Logo

Since Lufia: The Fortress of Doom (also known as Estopolis 1); Taito, the company responsible for its release, has kept a low profile lately by releasing games locally but not internationally.

According to recent reports from Japan, Taito is preparing a new RPG called Rakugaki Kingdom. "Rakugaki" whose loose translation means "Graffiti," will be developed by Taito's new in-house company Garukuta Stage. Heading the game's art production will be Yoshiharu Sato, who worked on Japanese anime shows such as My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Porco Rosso.

Concerning the game so far, the graffiti characters with the player's help, will evolve and change their structure and color as they grow in strength. Fighting stronger enemies will result in an upgrade for the graffiti. Taito also added that the game is targeted for a young audience, will have a friendly cast, and easy controls.

There was, however, was no announcement concerning Japanese, European, North American, or international release at this time. Stay tuned to RPGamer for further details.
