The recent conference that revealed these Blue Dragon details was also where up-and-coming developer Mistwalker decided to officially unveil its second RPG project. This new game will also be on the Xbox 360 and has been titled Lost Odyssey. A stark contrast to the chipper story of Blue
Dragon, this game will be a
deeper, more emotional story about Kaim Argonar, a man who
lived for 1000 years. For all his
long life, Kaim was a simple man. The game will focus
on the details of his everyday life and the families and
loves he's had and lost over a millenium.
Much like he did with Blue Dragon, Sakaguchi brings in a star-studded cast to help make
Lost Odyssey.
Character designs will be done by manga artist Takehiko
Inoue, known for his works Slam Dunk and Vagabond.
Novelist Kiyo Shigematsu, who has over 60 books in print,
is on board to help write the story. Music, however,
will once again be done by Nobuo Uematsu. Production will be
handled by Kawai, a co-worker of Sakaguchi's on Final Fantasy VII-IX.
As is standard with new game announcements, no release dates have been mentioned. RPGamer is keeping its ear to the ground.
