Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Goes Gold

The expansion to Blizzard's wildly popular Diablo II has gone gold, and the title should be in stores by June 29th. Blizzard has been notorious for delaying games for months on end to tweak them, but this time, the game will meet its initial projected release date.

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction adds two new character classes, the druid and the assassin, along with six new quests set in the Barbarian Highlands as players track down Baal, the last of the Three Prime Evils. The expansion also adds thousands of new weapon types, increased screen resolution, and a much-needed increase in stash sizes. In preparation for the release, a patch was recently put out by the company for existing players of Diablo II; check the company's website for more details on the patch and the expansion.
